Metro Market! Market!

created by: Tashkiel

have you heard about market market..?

Have you ever been in Global city taguig?

When the Ayala’s started the development of its newest shopping center concept at the Fort Bonifacio, the business district that was billed and touted to become the next Makati City in the country, they integrated the concept of hawker’s haven into a mall to give shoppers value for their money and an outdoor wet market to make it a catch-all destination for everybody. Now the newest and most visited mall in Metro Manila, Market! Market! is the home of the sixth and most ambitious store of Metro Gaisano. Known as Metro Market! Market!, the store is the anchor department store and supermarket of the mall and is the biggest so far in the Metro Gaisano chain of stores.

The store is envisioned to become a shopping and leisure destination in Metro Manila due to its superior atmosphere, comforts, quality merchandise and price value.

Kung hanap mo ay isang mall na kumpleto at maraming varieties na pag pipilian, pwes! this is the right place for you..
Kumpleto dito lalo na sa grooming at fashion trends.. Where fashion market was located in second floor, and take note, maraming choices dito ng mga fashion trends, compared to other marketing places,
and going to gimickan eh there's lots of resto and bistro near front of serendra.
i've bee there so many times and kapag kelangan ko ng shoping place para mag regalo, eto ang unang place na una kong pinupuntahan..
Marami kasing choices lalo na sa mga personalized na gamit, tech hub, mobile phones, medical consultancy, travel agencies, department store, bazaar, native pasalubong, recreation park, playing field and more products na unusual sa common malls na mapapasyalan natin.

Cebuanos or regular visitors to Cebu know about Metro Gaisano Grocery Stores. metro1 The Metro at the Ayala Mall in Cebu is enormous and packed to the gills with goods. I love it and always make it a point to shop there for pasalubongs, unusual imported goods not found elsewhere, or just to see what is on offer. Their prices are generally low and the selection downright impressive. I always wondered who did their purchasing or merchandising because they have some really unusual things, often items not otherwise distributed in the Philippines. The imported selection of cookies, munchies, teas, olive oils, etc. are sometimes even much better than the swankiest groceries in Manila. Well, if you didn’t already know, Metro is now in Manila, at the Market!Market! Mall of Ayala in Fort Bonifacio.

Frankly, it doesn’t have anywhere near the traffic of the metro1Cebu store yet so the selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, fish and meats leaves something to be desired. But what it does have is that quirky mix of dried and bottled goods that I like so much. I hit this grocery about once a month to stock up on things I don’t easily find anywhere else. On a recent visit, I marveled at the selection of instant noodles… I know, I know, how often do I eat instant anything but it was impressive nonetheless! I also found Frank’s Hot Sauce, the original concoction used for proper Buffalo Chicken Wings (Tabasco is a substitute only when Frank’s is not available), bottled artichokes that didn’t give you a nosebleed because of the price, nice dried peppers, Vlasic pickles, V8 juices in at least 4 different sizes and package types (for all you South Beach devotees), lots of Twinnings tea flavors, Chinese, Japanese and Korean condiments and sauces, great cereal choices, canned nuts in flavors I have never heard of and a whole other smattering of “stuff.”

I couldn’t do my near daily grocery run there because the fruit, vegetable and meat section just isn’t up to snuff yet. But if the volume of shoppers builds up, things will probably improve. For now, it’s the unusual chocolate bar, vinegar or hot sauce that is going to keep me coming back…

The Annex (Annex 1)

The SM City North EDSA Annex at the present

The original annex building was built in the 1990s as an expansion of the City Center. It featured some 200 shops and restaurants, additional movie theaters and a bowling alley. In February 8, 2007, the Annex was closed from the public for demolition as part of SM North EDSA's Redevelopment Plan.

an article from wikipedia

The new annex officially opened in December 12, 2008 at almost double the size of the previous structure, having provisions for more than 400 shops and restaurants. The Annex now consists of a 92,830 square-meter, six-level building. The new structure was designed by Arquitectonica, the same architectural management firm that designed The Podium and SM Mall Of Asia. The tenants include Upscale shops, various restaurants, the biggest Cyberzone, Save More Market, a games arcade and a bowling center, creating a cutting-edge mix of shopping and entertainment.

It exteriors are green-colored, wavy-like claddings and glass windows. Its interiors are clean and modern, and centered around a curvilinear atrium, which stretches its length. Daylight is provided through a series of circular glass cones set into the ceiling, giving the interior a light, airy feeling.
